Common Uses for 7075 T6, 6082 T6, and 5083 H111 Aluminum Plate

UAE clients often buy a combination of 6082 and 5083 aluminum plates. This mixed purchase provides a good balance between structural strength and corrosion resistance for general engineering projects.

  • 6082 T6 Aluminum Plate: This is a structural-grade aluminum. It has high strength and is very easy to machine. In daily industrial applications, buyers use 6082 T6 for making machine frames, CNC machining parts, equipment base plates, and heavy-duty brackets.
  • 5083 H111 Aluminum Plate: This is a marine-grade aluminum sheet. Its main feature is excellent resistance to seawater and industrial chemicals. Common uses include boat building, shipbuilding, storage tanks, and pressure vessels.
  • 7075 T6 Aluminum Plate: This is an aerospace-grade alloy known for its extremely high strength. Buyers usually use 20mm 7075 plates for manufacturing molds, tooling blocks, and high-stress mechanical gears.

Quality Control and Tolerance

As a professional aluminum plate supplier, GNEE ensures every piece meets strict engineering requirements. We do not just trade; we control the manufacturing and inspection process.

All aluminum plates in this order are produced strictly according to the ASTM B209 standard.

  • Thickness Tolerance: We control the thickness tolerance between ±0.05 mm to ±0.30 mm, depending on the specific thickness of the plate. This ensures the plates are suitable for direct CNC machining without wasting extra milling time.
  • Flatness Control: Thick plates (like the 110mm and 200mm 6082 blocks) go through a leveling line to ensure high flatness.
  • Edge Cutting: We use precision saws to cut the plates to the 1500x3000mm size, ensuring straight edges and strict squareness.

Inspection and Testing Process

To guarantee material quality, our QA team performs a full inspection before packing.

  • Chemical Test: We use a spectrometer to check the chemical composition of each alloy batch.
  • Mechanical Test: We test the tensile strength, yield strength, and hardness to ensure the T6 and H111 tempers meet international standards.
  • Final Visual Check: We check 100% of the dimensions. We also inspect the surface for scratches, oil marks, or dents. We weigh the cargo to match the packing list.
  • Every shipment comes with a Mill Test Certificate (MTC) according to EN 10204 3.1.

Packaging for Sea Freight

Dubai has a hot climate with high humidity and salt in the air. Shipping metal by sea takes about 15 to 25 days from Qingdao Port to Jebel Ali Port. If the packaging is poor, aluminum plates can easily develop white rust or water stains.

To prevent this, GNEE uses strict export-grade packaging:
We apply a PVC protective film on the surface of the aluminum plates.
We wrap the plates in thick, moisture-proof kraft paper.
We place the wrapped plates on strong, seaworthy wooden pallets.
We use steel strips to secure the load tightly to the pallet.
We add hard corner protectors to prevent edge damage during loading and unloading.
This standard packing process ensures the customer receives clean, flat, and undamaged materials.

FAQ

1. What production standards do your aluminum plates meet?

We mainly produce according to ASTM B209 and EN 485 standards. If you have specific regional standard requirements, please let us know.

2. What kind of surface treatment do you provide?

Our standard supply is Mill Finish (smooth, clean, uncoated surface). These plates are ready for your own post-processing, such as hard anodizing, powder coating, or painting.

3. Do you provide cutting or processing services?

Yes. We offer custom cutting services. We use CNC saws for standard straight cuts. For very thick plates or special shapes, we offer waterjet cutting. You will receive the exact sizes you need, ready for use.

4. Can you accept third-party testing?

Yes. We welcome third-party testing agencies like SGS, BV, or TUV to inspect the goods, check dimensions, and verify the weight at our warehouse before shipment.

5. How is the aluminum plate price calculated?

The price consists of three parts: The daily SMM (Shanghai Metals Market) aluminum ingot base price, the factory processing cost (which depends on the alloy and thickness), and the sea freight to your destination port. Prices change frequently, so it is best to ask our team for an updated quote.
