1. Differences between 6061 aluminum sheet states T6 and T651
6061 aluminum sheets differ in the two states of T6 and T651. Generally, the internal stress of the T6 state is relatively large and it is easy to deform during processing. In contrast, the T651 state is more suitable for processing because it is stretched on the basis of T6, which effectively eliminates the internal stress.
2. Composition and characteristics of 6061 aluminum alloy
6061 aluminum alloy uses magnesium and silicon as the main alloying elements to form the Mg2Si phase. By adding appropriate amounts of manganese and chromium, the adverse effects of iron can be neutralized. At the same time, in order to enhance the strength of the alloy without compromising its corrosion resistance, a small amount of copper or zinc is sometimes added. In addition, the addition of zirconium or titanium can refine the grains and control the recrystallization structure. In order to improve the machinability of 6061 brushed aluminum sheets, the addition of lead and bismuth is also a common practice.
After Mg2Si is dissolved in aluminum, the alloy has the function of artificial aging hardening. This allows 6061 flat aluminum sheets to maintain moderate strength while also showing excellent corrosion resistance, good weldability and excellent oxidation effect.
3. Application of 6061-T6 and 6061-T651
6061-T6 aluminum sheet metal is a commonly used aluminum alloy state. Unless otherwise specified, the product is usually delivered in this state. 6061-T651 is the leader among the 6 series aluminum alloys. It has excellent processing performance, excellent welding characteristics, good electroplating, and excellent corrosion resistance, toughness and density. In addition, it is easy to polish, easy to color film and has excellent oxidation effect. Therefore, 6061-T651 aircraft aluminum sheet is widely used in aerospace fixtures, electrical fixtures, communications, and is also suitable for automation machinery parts, precision machining, mold manufacturing, electronics and precision instruments.
