1. Process definition and core characteristics
Heat treatment principle
Quenched aluminum plate is heated to the critical temperature (500-510℃) and then rapidly cooled to optimize the grain structure and improve strength and corrosion resistance. Common processes include air cooling or water cooling, combined with artificial aging (such as 95-105℃×3h) or natural aging (room temperature 120h).
The state is marked as T series (such as T6, T651), which represents the stable performance after heat treatment, which is different from the H state of cold work hardening.
Improved mechanical properties
Typical tensile strength range:
6061-T6: ≥290MPa, elongation ≥12%;
2A12-T4: ≥425MPa, suitable for high-strength structural parts;
7075-T6: ≥540MPa, used in the aerospace field.
2. Mainstream models and applicable scenarios
Civil and industrial models
6061-T6/T651:
Thickness 3-500mm, width 100-2650mm, pre-stretching to eliminate internal stress, deformation rate after processing <0.5%, suitable for molds, precision mechanical guide rails and rail transit components;
Fluorocarbon spraying improves weather resistance, suitable for building curtain walls and outdoor equipment.
3003-O/H14:
Replace high-cost alloys in weak corrosion scenarios, used for storage tanks and roof panels.
Special alloys
7075-T6:
High-strength and lightweight design, suitable for aircraft skins and missile cabins, requires anodizing to enhance surface wear resistance;
2A12-T4:
Outstanding fatigue resistance, suitable for ship decks and heavy-duty mechanical connectors.
3. Core technical parameters and testing standards
Key points of process control
Temperature control accuracy: The temperature fluctuation of the quenching furnace must be ≤±5℃ to avoid grain coarsening; Cooling rate: The flow rate of the water cooling medium is >3m/s to ensure the uniformity of the structure.
Quality verification
Mechanical test: According to GB/T 3880-2025, the tensile strength, elongation and other indicators are tested; Stress detection: Using the X-ray diffraction method, the residual stress must be <50MPa (T651 state).
Summary: The quenched aluminum plate achieves a balance between strength and processing performance through precise heat treatment process, and is suitable for high-precision industrial parts and special equipment manufacturing. The selection needs to comprehensively consider the target strength, environmental resistance and processing complexity, and give priority to matching suppliers with full-process quality control capabilities.
