The"T6" in 6061T6 indicates the processing state of the aluminum alloy sheet, specifically solid solution treatment followed by artificial aging. This treatment consists of two main steps:

Solid solution heat treatment: the aluminum alloy is heated to a high temperature to dissolve the internal alloying elements, and then rapidly cooled (quenched and tempered).

There are five main types of aluminum tempering designations:

T: Thermally treated. Applies to heat-treatable alloys that have been aged following a solution heat treatment.

H: Strain hardened. Suitable for non-heat-treatable alloys that have been strain hardened for strength.

O: Annealed. Annealing maximizes workability and toughness in the alloy's lowest strength condition.

F: As fabricated. Most F-temper products are "semi-finished" products. They will be used in shaping, finishing, or thermal processes to achieve other finished forms or tempers.

W: Solution heat treated. This temper applies only to alloys that age naturally and spontaneously after solution heat treating.

Artificial aging treatment: left at room temperature for a period of time to stabilize the internal organization of the aluminum alloy sheet, thus increasing its strength and hardness.

Through this treatment, 6061T6 aluminum alloy sheet has the following performance characteristics:
High strength and hardness: through heat treatment and aging treatment, 6061 T6 aluminum alloy sheet has excellent mechanical properties.
Good corrosion resistance: The alloy exhibits good corrosion resistance in a wide range of environments.
Good machinability and weldability: suitable for a wide range of industrial applications.
6061T6 aluminium flat plate is widely used in the following areas:
Automotive manufacturing: used to make structural aluminum parts for trucks and other vehicles.
Construction industry: used for tower blocks and other aluminum structural parts.
Ships and trams: used to manufacture structural parts for ships and trams, such as aluminum ship decks, aluminium base plates.
