Manufacturing process
6063-T6 aluminum alloy tube through the solution heat treatment using water-cooled quenching process, rapid cooling so that the material to achieve higher strength and hardness, but the internal residual stress is larger, easy to deformation during machining. 6063-T651 in the T6 based on the addition of cold stretching process, mechanical stretching to eliminate the residual internal stresses, to enhance the dimensional stability, and more suitable for precision machining scenarios.

Mechanical properties
T6 has higher tensile strength and hardness (e.g., tensile strength up to 205 MPa), which is suitable for load-bearing structures or construction profiles with high strength requirements, while T651 balances strength and toughness through the tensile treatment. Although the ultimate strength is slightly lower than T6, it has stronger deformation resistance, which is especially suitable for complex processing and parts with high requirements for dimensional accuracy.

Processing and Applications
Due to high internal stress, T6 tubes need to reserve machining allowance when cutting or welding, and are mostly used in door and window frames, curtain walls and other scenarios requiring high strength. T651 tubes can be directly used in precision molds, electronic equipment components and other deep processing fields due to the uniform distribution of stress, without the need for secondary leveling, and the surface quality is more stable after oxidation.

Comprehensive selection
If high strength is the core demand of the scene (such as load-bearing beams, high load bracket aluminum tubes), the T6 state is preferred; if both processing accuracy, low deformation rate and surface treatment stability are required (such as precision instruments or complex cross-section profiles), the T651's comprehensive performance is better.
