Duralumin is a high-strength aluminum alloy primarily composed of copper, magnesium, and manganese. It significantly improves mechanical properties through aging hardening treatment (T6/T651) and is widely used in aluminum bar products that require lightweight and high-load applications.

Core Grades and Characteristics

2XXX Series (Aluminum-Copper-Magnesium Series)

2011 Aluminum Bar: Contains 5.5%-6.5% copper and offers excellent machinability. It is ideal for precision instrument shafts and CNC-machined aluminum bars.

2024 Aluminum Bar: With a tensile strength ≥470 MPa, it is used for aerospace structural components and military equipment brackets. It requires anodizing treatment to improve corrosion resistance.

6XXX Series (Aluminum-Magnesium-Silicon Series)

6061-T6 Aluminum Rod: A general-purpose hard aluminum that offers both weldability and extrusion molding efficiency. It is commonly used in building curtain wall keels and automobile chassis connecting rods.

6063-T5 Aluminum Rod: Known for its high surface finish, it is suitable for LED heat sink profiles and door and window frames.

7XXX Series (Aluminum-Zinc-Magnesium Series)

7075-T651 Aluminum Rod: Contains 5.6%-6.1% zinc and has a tensile strength ≥570 MPa. It is used for aircraft landing gear and robot joint shafts but should be kept away from seawater environments.

7005 Aluminum Rod: Exhibits strong resistance to stress corrosion, making it suitable for mountain bike frames and hydraulic cylinders.

Selection and Processing Suggestions

High-Precision Scenarios: Choose cold-drawn aluminum bars (diameter tolerance ±0.05mm) and pair them with CNC turning processes.

Corrosion Resistance Requirements: Prefer 5083 aluminum alloy bars or apply micro-arc oxidation coatings.

Certification Standards: Hard aluminum bars must comply with standards such as ASTM B211 and AMS 4120 to ensure fatigue strength and chemical composition stability.

Industry Application Cases

New Energy Vehicles: 7075 aluminum bars are used for battery tray brackets, reducing weight by more than 30%.

Photovoltaic Industry: 6063-T6 aluminum bars are used to manufacture solar tracking brackets, capable of withstanding outdoor ultraviolet aging.
