Industrial aluminium foil is an excellent thermally conductive material with very good thermal conductivity. The thermal conductivity of aluminium foil is about 235W/(m-K), which is nearly four times higher than that of steel. This means that aluminium foil is able to rapidly transfer heat to other objects and has excellent heat dissipation capabilities. Industrial aluminium foil is widely used in many applications where heat dissipation is required, such as electronic product heat sinks, automotive radiators, food packaging and other fields.

The water pipe of solar water heater is usually aluminium-zinc-plated pipe, pex, ppr, etc. If a layer of aluminium foil is wrapped outside, it can only accelerate the dispersion of the heat inside the pipe to the air, which leads to a fast decrease of the temperature inside the pipe. The so-called industrial aluminium foil heat insulation means that it can reflect the sunlight, thus redirecting the radiation of the sunlight to other places, rather than heat insulation (thermal insulation).
