6082-T6 aluminum alloy is a medium-strength aluminum alloy that belongs to the 6000 series of alloys with one of the highest strengths. Processing and welding performance
6082-T6 aluminum alloy has good formability, weldability and machinability. In welding, when using 5087 wire for MIG welding, post-weld heat treatment can significantly increase the tensile strength and hardness of the joints and improve the organization uniformity in the heat-affected zone. In addition, 6082 aluminum alloy has high mechanical properties in T6 condition, which is suitable for high stress applications, bridges, cranes, transportation applications, etc.
