7075 aluminum plate Description
7075 aluminum plate is a high-strength and high-hardness aluminum alloy plate. It belongs to the Al-Zn-Mg-Cu series of super-hard aluminum. It is the strongest among the existing aluminum alloys, so it is also called super-hard aluminum. After heat treatment, the strength of this aluminum plate can reach a tensile strength of more than 635MPa, a yield strength of more than 500MPa, and an elongation of less than 10%.
The advantages of 7075 aluminum plate are its high strength and hardness, which far exceeds that of mild steel. It has good machinability and corrosion resistance, and can maintain high strength in the range of -40℃ to high temperature 250℃, especially when the temperature is higher than 120℃, its strength will even increase higher than the annealing state. This makes 7075 aluminum plate an indispensable and important material in special fields such as aviation and aerospace.
However, the disadvantages of 7075 aluminum plate are also obvious. First of all, its corrosion resistance is not as good as 2A12, and it needs to be enhanced by anodizing, spraying, electrophoretic painting and other methods. Secondly, the weldability of 7075 aluminum plate is also very poor, with a strong tendency to crack, requiring special process treatment and welding measures.
