Features: Aluminum alloy with manganese as the main alloying element (manganese content between 1.0-1.5%). It cannot be strengthened by heat treatment, has good corrosion resistance, good welding performance, and good plasticity (close to super aluminum alloy).

Disadvantages: low strength, but the strength can be enhanced through cold work hardening; coarse grains are easily produced during annealing.

Application scope: oil-conducting seamless pipes (3003 alloy) used on aircraft, cans (3004 alloy).

4××× series aluminum alloy is an aluminum alloy with silicon as the main alloying element (silicon content between 4.5-6).

Most of these alloys are aluminum alloys that cannot be strengthened by heat treatment. Only alloys containing copper, magnesium and nickel, and when certain elements are absorbed after the alloy is strengthened by welding heat treatment, can be strengthened by heat treatment.

This series of alloys has high silicon content, low melting point, good melt fluidity, easy feeding, and does not make the final product brittle. Therefore, it is mainly used to make additive materials for aluminum alloy welding, such as brazing plates, welding rods and Welding wire, etc.

In addition, due to the good wear resistance and high temperature performance of some alloys of this series, they are also used to make pistons and heat-resistant parts. The alloy containing about 5% silicon turns black gray after anodizing and coloring, so it is suitable for use as building materials and manufacturing decorative parts.
