Products Description
Extruded tubes are brought to their final size through a hot extrusion process and can be seamless or non-seamless. Although you can't visually tell the difference between seamless and structural pipe, they are different and choosing the correct pipe material will depend on your application.
Seamless tube:
Hydraulic seamless pipes are produced using two methods. One method involves pushing a hollow aluminum blank through a core press at high temperatures and with tremendous force. Another method is to push the solid blank through the punch, then use the mandrel to pierce and squeeze the blank on the second forward stroke. No matter which method is used, the tube will have no welds or seams, making it ideal for anodizing and other finishing procedures.

Anodized appearance is more uniform, especially on heavier wall sections
No welds that can split during forming operations
Improve structural integrity
Structural tubes:
Hydraulic structural pipes are produced using the porthole method or the bridge mold method. The solid aluminum billet is pushed through the mold with tremendous force at high temperatures. The tubes separate during this process and are reshaped by the inherent welding process as they pass through the extrusion die. If the tube is anodized or "finished," there is a slightly visible seam that may be noticeable to the naked eye.
