Aluminum Pipe Tee

Aluminum Pipe Tee

GNEE manufactures aluminum tees for creating branch connections in piping systems. Our range includes equal tees (branch and run pipes of equal diameter) and reducing tees (branch diameter smaller than the run), with butt-weld, threaded, and socket-weld end configurations. All butt-weld tees conform to ASTM B361 with dimensions to ASME B16.9. Threaded and socket-weld tees conform to ASME B16.52.

Description

Henan Gnee New Material Co., Ltd. is one of the most reliable manufacturers and suppliers of aluminum pipe tee in China. With abundant experience, we warmly welcome you to wholesale high quality aluminum pipe tee in stock here from our factory. Good service and reasonable price are available.

GNEE is a manufacturer and supplier of aluminum tees - also called aluminum tee fittings - for piping and tubing systems. An aluminum tee creates a branch connection: it splits one flow path into two, or joins two flow paths into one, depending on the piping arrangement.

Available configurations include aluminum equal tees and aluminum reducing tees, with butt-weld, threaded and socket-weld connections where applicable. Aluminum tees can be supplied in different alloys, sizes, wall thicknesses and connection configurations according to the product design and customer requirements.

Applicable factory-made wrought aluminum and aluminum-alloy welding tees can be supplied according to ASTM B361, with dimensions according to ASME B16.9 where applicable. ASME B16.52 covers applicable forged nonferrous fittings with threaded and socket-welding ends, including aluminum and aluminum alloys.

01.

Equal Aluminum Tee

An aluminum equal tee has the same nominal size at the run and the branch.

For example, a 2" × 2" × 2" aluminum tee has a 2-inch run and a 2-inch branch.

Equal tees are commonly used when a piping system needs to split one line into two branches of the same nominal size.

Typical applications:

Industrial piping

Compressed-air systems

HVAC systems

Equipment connections

Marine piping

Distribution manifolds

For applicable butt-weld fittings, dimensions should be selected for the specified size and configuration according to ASME B16.9.

02.

Reducing Aluminum Tee

An aluminum reducing tee has a smaller branch diameter than the main run.

For example, a 4" × 4" × 2" reducing aluminum tee has a 4-inch run and a 2-inch branch.

A reducing tee creates a branch connection without the need for a separate reducer and tee in some piping layouts.

Typical applications:

Process piping

Equipment branches

Instrument connections

HVAC distribution

Compressed-air systems

Marine piping

Available reducing combinations depend on the applicable fitting dimensions, manufacturing process and customer requirements.

Aluminum Tee Connection Types

The right connection type depends on the installation method and the existing piping system.

Butt-Weld Aluminum Tee

A butt-weld aluminum tee is joined to the pipe by welding. The pipe and fitting ends are aligned and welded together. This connection is used for permanent piping assemblies.

Applicable factory-made wrought aluminum and aluminum-alloy welding fittings can be supplied according to ASTM B361, with dimensions according to ASME B16.9 where applicable.

Typical uses:

Industrial piping

Compressed-air systems

Marine piping

Equipment connections

Threaded Aluminum Tee

A threaded aluminum tee uses threaded ends to connect compatible pipes, fittings, valves or other components.

Common thread requirements:

NPT

BSPT

BSPP

Metric threads where specified

NPT and BSP are different thread systems and should not be treated as interchangeable. Specify the thread type and size when requesting a quotation.

Applicable forged aluminum and aluminum-alloy threaded fittings can be supplied according to ASME B16.52, which covers dimensions, tolerances, ratings, marking and material requirements.

Socket-Weld Aluminum Tee

A socket-weld aluminum tee has socket ends. The mating pipe or tube is inserted into the socket, then welded.

This connection is commonly considered for small-bore piping where a socket-weld configuration is appropriate.

Applicable forged aluminum and aluminum-alloy socket-welding fittings can be supplied according to ASME B16.52. Confirm the socket dimensions, pipe size, alloy and wall thickness before production.

About Pipe Schedule

Where the tee matches compatible pipe dimensions, customers can specify pipe schedules such as SCH10, SCH40, SCH80 or SCH160.

Pipe schedule is not a standalone pressure rating for an aluminum tee. The actual pressure capability depends on:

Aluminum alloy

Temper

Wall thickness

Tee geometry

Fitting size

Operating temperature

Connection method

Applicable design code

Service conditions

GNEE recommends confirming the complete fitting specification before assigning a pressure rating.

Aluminum Tee Alloys

Different aluminum alloys offer different combinations of strength, corrosion resistance, weldability, machinability and formability.

Applications of Aluminum Tee

Industrial Piping

Aluminum tees can create branch connections in compatible industrial piping systems, equipment connections and distribution lines.

Compressed Air

Tees can divide compressed-air flow between the main distribution line and branch lines. Aluminum systems are often chosen where lightweight installation and corrosion resistance are important.

HVAC and Air Handling

Aluminum tees can create branch connections in compatible HVAC and air-handling systems.

Marine Piping

Aluminum alloys such as 5083 and 5086 can be considered for suitable marine applications where corrosion resistance, low weight and weldability are required. Confirm the alloy and temper according to the marine project specification.

Instrumentation

Small-bore threaded or socket-weld tees may be used for selected gauge, sensor and instrument connections. Confirm the thread type, pressure requirements and material compatibility before installation.

Equipment Connections

Aluminum tees can be used around compatible pumps, valves, manifolds, heat exchangers, tanks and process equipment.

FAQ

Q: What standard covers aluminum butt-weld tees?

A: Applicable factory-made wrought aluminum and aluminum-alloy welding tees can be supplied according to ASTM B361, with dimensions according to ASME B16.9 where applicable.

Q: Are aluminum tees available with threads?

A: Yes. Aluminum tees can be supplied with suitable threaded ends, including NPT or BSP configurations where applicable. Applicable forged aluminum threaded fittings can be supplied according to ASME B16.52.

Q: Can aluminum tees be socket welded?

A: Yes. Socket-weld aluminum tees can be supplied for applicable designs. ASME B16.52 covers applicable forged aluminum and aluminum-alloy socket-welding fittings.

Q: What is the difference between a butt-weld and a threaded aluminum tee?

A: A butt-weld tee is permanently joined to the pipe by welding. A threaded tee uses mechanical threads and can be removed without cutting the pipe. The right connection depends on the piping design, size, pressure, temperature, and maintenance requirements.

Q: What aluminum alloy is suitable for marine tees?

A: 5083 and 5086 are commonly considered for marine applications because of their corrosion resistance and weldability. The final alloy and temper should be selected according to the actual marine environment and project requirements.

Q: Can aluminum tees be made in SCH40 or SCH80?

A: Where applicable, aluminum tees can be designed to match compatible pipe dimensions specified by a pipe schedule. However, SCH40 or SCH80 should not be treated as the standalone pressure rating of an aluminum tee. Pressure capability depends on alloy, temper, wall thickness, geometry, temperature, connection, and applicable design requirements.

Q: What sizes of aluminum tees are available?

A: For applicable butt-welding fittings, ASME B16.9 covers sizes from NPS 1/2 through NPS 48. GNEE's actual supply range depends on the fitting type, alloy, manufacturing method, and production capability.

Q: Can you manufacture aluminum tees from customer drawings?

A: Yes. GNEE can evaluate custom aluminum tees based on CAD drawings, technical drawings, samples, size specifications, material requirements and connection requirements.
