Aluminum foil composite technology
To form a higher quality composite material, two or more materials are bonded together during the lamination process.
The lamination process typically involves three stages:
1. 𝙎𝙪𝙧𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣: The foil surface needs to be cleaned and treated to ensure it is free of contaminants including oil, dirt and other impurities that may hinder the lamination process.
2. 𝘼𝙥𝙥𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙜𝙡𝙪𝙚: The surface of the aluminum foil is coated with a thin layer of glue. Adhesives can be solvent-based or water-based, depending on the needs of the application.
3.𝙇𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣: The foil is then laminated with a second material, which can be a polymer film, paper, or other metal. Under pressure and heat, the two materials are forced through a set of rollers, activating the adhesive and joining them together.
Once the lamination process is complete, the result is a composite material with better strength, barrier properties and heat resistance.
